The second book in the OMGWACA series, The Importance of Being Aisling: Country Roads, Take her Home is currently the number one bestselling book in the country and co-authors Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen were in studio with Ray D’Arcy when they found out the good news. It comes hot on the heels of their first book, Oh My God, What A Complete Aisling, which was also a bestseller.

The book’s only been on sale since last Thursday but reviews are already flooding in, with many readers tweeting Emer and Sarah telling them they’d stayed up ‘til the wee hours to finish the book in one sitting. That’s impressive, Sarah says.

“I don’t know where they get their attention spans. My attention span is the length of an Instagram story.”

Ray was curious if Emer and Sarah felt a kind of “second album” pressure with this book.

“There were high expectations after the first book did so well. So, we were feeling quite a bit of pressure.”

Aisling has quite the origin story, as Emer explained.

“She was born out of me and Sarah messing…it just grew and grew and grew.

“Grew” might be an understatement. The Facebook group that Emer and Sarah initially set up to share their stories about Aisling with friends now has over 50,000 members.

The new book features some changes for Aisling, as she moves back to BallyGoBackwards (BGB) with Majella. It’s not all bad, though. At least she’s away from her notion-y Dublin housemates and their avocados.

“Aisling can’t understand the avocado. Because so many Weight Watchers points, why would you do it to yourself?
