5 Ingredients is the latest book from Jamie Oliver. He joined Today with Sean O’Rourke to discuss his career and latest culinary concept.
“It’s kind of a massive master class in cooking-by-numbers, really”
“I think when I wrote this book, it’s sort of acknowledging that people are quite knowledgeable about food but maybe still nervous to cook.”
Father-of-5 Jamie admits that his whole approach to people’s health and well-being has grown significantly throughout his career. He’s studying for a Masters in Nutrition at the moment.
“To learn the science of nutrition after I’ve spent 25 years cooking has been the most beautiful gift in the world”
In terms of tackling obesity, particularly for school children has been a major part of Jamie’s career, and one which he continues to campaign for. He has strong opinions on Prime Minister Theresa May’s efforts in that area.
“Out of the four Prime Ministers that I’ve been working with since School Dinners 13 years ago, she was the first to never want to talk to no-one.”
