As the saying goes, never meet your heroes.

That was the experience – at least initially – for Roger Yuan, a Hollywood stuntman and fight choreographer. He trained under action legend Chuck Norris and has coached everyone from Daniel Craig, Michelle Pfeiffer, Matt Damon and Jennifer Lawrence.

But back in the early days of his career, he was given the chance to act beside his hero, Jackie Chan. As he explained to Ryan Tubridy yesterday, his parents were Chinese, but he was brought up in Los Angeles.

“When I first met Jackie he was very standoffish. He’s meeting this guy who is ABC – American born Chinese. So there’s that element too that there may not be the same amount of respect because you’re not real Chinese.”

Roger also talked to Ryan about working with everyone from 007 to Matt Damon, and about his time living in Ireland.  To hear the full interview, click here.

First broadcast on Wednesday 12th April.
