Journalist (and insightful tweeter) Ellen Coyne is feeling enraged. But why?
Ellen had a chat with Ryan Tubridy about how excessive noise from people’s smartphones on public transport brings out the strongest of feelings for her. She explains what happened.
“I was basically overwhelmed with incredulity, sitting on a train for Waterford to Dublin in absolute disbelief that there are still people, in the year of our lord 2019, who’ll listen to videos on public transport with no headphones in – at full volume”
I’m so incredulous that there are still people watching videos on trains without headphones in the year of our lord 2019. If I didn’t have the sound of some sort of wrestling (?) video ringing in my ears at this very moment I wouldn’t believe it myself.

And as a result, Denise rang in to tell us about her experience of sitting near a man watching a very, “particular,” kind of film on the bus near her.
