It’s a long time since the heady days of touring with Kila and The Frames, yet Colm Mac Con Iomaire never seems to lose that quiet exuberance that has earned him the right to be counted amongst Ireland’s most highly-regarded musicians.
Quiet exuberance? Isn’t that something of an oxymoron?
Sure, but then again, so is Mac Con Iomaire’s music. It’s peaceful and still, yet hopeful and jumping with complexity.
The Dublin native joined Sean O’Rourke in studio this morning to treat us to a rendition of ‘Solasta’, which translates as Bearla, to ‘Bright’.
