What are your favourite aspects of getting a new car?  Have you ever considered that as well as the ‘new car smell’, features such as the indicator ‘click’ and even the roar of the engine, may have been engineered specifically due to consumer needs.

Anton Savage joined Sean O’Rourke on the Today programme to explain some surprising features of your vehicle.

New car scent, in particular, is something which consumers come to expect with their new purchase, and in some cases, is recreated by car manufacturers as a result.  But that’s not all, as Anton explains.

“Oddly, the automotive industry probably more than anywhere else, has been faking every aspect of their cars for years.”
